Green Light - Oscar-winning actor and Interstellar star Matthew McConaughey's first autobiography
Greenlights
Oscar-winning actor and star of "Interstellar" and "Dallas Buyers Club," Matthew McConaughey's first autobiography tells the legendary life of a Stoic.
Maintaining self-dialogue, discerning what truly matters, and turning every obstacle into an opportunity—this is Matthew's "green light" philosophy.

Matthew McConaughey was born into a bizarre family where his parents could be arguing one minute and then being inseparable the next.
At eighteen, she spent a year as an exchange student with a strange host family in Australia and became a vegetarian.
He debuted as an actor in his early twenties and at the same time modified a 1996 GMC Savana van, embarking on a road trip from Canada to Guatemala, traversing 48 states in the United States.
Twice, driven by a dream, I resolutely traveled to the Amazon River and the African continent of my dreams, abandoning all social identities to experience the primitive state of being a human being as an independent individual.
At the height of his acting career, he rejected romantic comedy offers that didn't interest him, giving up a $14.5 million salary and going six months without receiving any pay, all to express his determination to completely transform his career and take on the films he truly wanted to make.
At the age of 43, he starred in "Dallas Buyers Club," losing 22 kilograms in five months to portray an AIDS patient, and won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his superb acting skills.
At fifty, he went to the pristine desert of Texas, where he lived in utter isolation for fifty-two days and wrote the book "Green Light" in complete solitude.
He believes that self-interest precedes altruism. He argues that only through strict discipline and profound love can one cultivate respect, responsibility, creativity, courage, perseverance, fairness, service, humor, and a spirit of adventure. He believes that maintaining constant self-reflection is crucial to keenly and decisively identifying what truly matters, turning obstacles into opportunities, and persevering relentlessly. This is Matthew McConaughey's "Green Light" philosophy.
