Closer to the Singularity - Ray Kurzweil The culmination of 60 years of AI research on artificial intelligence!
The Singularity Is Nearer: When We Merge With AI
- A prophecy about the next 20 years, a guide and roadmap for future survival towards the Singularity.
Another landmark work by Ray Kurzweil following The Singularity is Near! Explores how exponential technologies, represented by artificial intelligence, biotechnology and nanobots, will propel humanity toward the Singularity!
Through solid arguments, Kurzweil reiterates in his book his bold predictions for the next 20 years - when AI will pass the Turing test; when humanity will step into the singularity; how the continued development of human-machine fusion technology will enhance human intelligence millions of times; how human lifespan will be realized to be extended beyond the current 120-year biological limits; how the continuous improvement of renewable energy technologies will meet all our energy needs; how exponential technologies will change every aspect of human life, and so on. We are about to enter an era of reconfigured cognition, life, and even living, where everything will begin anew!
- How biotechnology, nanotechnology, and artificial intelligence technologies will reshape the future, a super ji prophecy about the future of business, life, work, health, and more.
The converging exponentially growing technological trends will bring about a transformation that will be fundamental to humanity. The future of business, work, health and life will be reconfigured.
The future of commerce: exponentially evolving technologies will revolutionize the creation and distribution of physical goods!
The future of work: the AI revolution is happening at an exponential rate, which will result in the likelihood of more than half of all occupations being replaced by automated devices are above 50%!
The future of health: medical nanorobots will be able to maintain and repair at the cellular level, life expectancy will exceed 120 years, and the files of our minds will be digitally backed up, even to the point of “immortality”!
The future of life: almost every aspect of life is getting better, becoming easier, safer, richer and better!

Ray Kurzweil
Ray Kurzweil, male, has invented a reading machine for the blind, a music synthesizer and a speech recognition system. He has received many awards: the Dixon Prize, the Carnegie Mellon Science Prize, and in 1988, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology named him “Outstanding Inventor of the Year“. He has received nine honorary doctorates and two Presidential Honors. Kurzweil is also a successful entrepreneur who has used his inventions to start his own business and develop a number of high-tech products for the benefit of mankind. Kurzweil is the author of several best-selling books. His 1990 book, The Age of Intelligent Machines, which successfully predicted that a computer would beat the chess king in 1998, won the American Publishers Association's “Most Outstanding Book in Computer Science” award. Kurzweil is currently President of Singularity University.
